About . . .

DILETTANTE

1. A dabbler in an art or field of knowledge; amateur.
2. A lover of the fine arts; connoisseur; aficionado.

Take your pick.

Winslow Junker was the hero of my first (still unwritten) novel. His sidekick was named Guido. Guido, apparently allergic to desuetude, took off in disgust long ago, but Winslow has stuck with me through the years. He's part imaginary friend, part alter ego. He's the part of me that didn't have to make a living, go to school, be responsible (except to me, of course, and I'm easy to please). He could up stakes and travel whenever he wanted, seek adventures, sail around the world (at least in his mind), be a poet or an actor. In short, he could be good at all kinds of things I wouldn't even attempt.

It's time he had a voice. The novel that should have been his vehicle into the world now stands little chance of being written. He seems happy with a blog, though, and if he's happy, so am I. (I notice he's even developed some imaginary friends of his own, viz. Arnold Duggan and P.T. Dardy.)

All the material here is our own unless credited otherwise, even the drawings and artwork. If you'd like to have any of this stuff on a T-shirt, coffee mug or refrigerator magnet, feel free to email us. Something might be arranged.
